Art on My Walls: Lulie Wallace
Lulie Wallace was design*sponged (yes, new verb) not too long ago, and now the Charleston painter has garnered much nationwide attention. I’m loving her new textile line. In its shapes and patterns you can see floral inspiration and form. I see myself snagging a duffle bag and taking the train somewhere for the weekend.
And some paintings for posterity…

Elisabeth Newton: Contemporary Pearls
I met Elisabeth Newton at Richmond’s Bizarre Bazaar back in early December and couldn’t resist sharing some of her creations with you all. She works from Golden Belt Studios in Durham, N.C. While many of her designs are snagged by brides, they are also gorgeous for the everyday. Aren’t you jealous of her light and airy studio space?
Girly Gear: SLR Accessories
I have had a DSLR camera for awhile now. In fact, I bought into the hype when Ashton Kutcher was still touting the Nikon D40. Just recently, I dug my camera out and decided I needed a few accessories. First, I couldn’t resist this padded strap cover by Happy Snapz over on Etsy. The shop owner at Martilena is custom-making my DSLR bag insert in “Wine”, the deep red, for just thirty-five dollars! It also comes in nine other durable nylon fabrics. Now, I have no excuse not to shoot.

Merry Christmas!

Good morning everyone. I hope you have the merriest of Christmases. Here is the Christmas Tree I made from the tutorial over on my favorite cousin-written blog, Rebelleon. And here are the cinnamon rolls we will be devouring (already devouring) this morning. The recipe for these Quick Cinnamon Rolls is just that, quick! No yeast and waiting for them to rise. And, everything was already in the pantry. Enjoy!

The High Heeled Traveler
My newly minted blog acquaintance, Jamie, has a great blog already over at High Heeled Traveler. As her tagline notes, she explores travel, art, style and wine and now my possibly favorite post, Video Games and Beer. Her husband, who she refers to as “Gman” influences her expert pairing of various pilsners and lagers with zombies and combat. Anyone with a gamer, *sigh*, significant other will get a good laugh.
Jamie is now launching a quarterly magazine of the same name. Each issue will center on a theme. The first issue will be on ‘home’ and what it means to different people. Jamie is accepting submissions of recipes, music, style, fiction, short stories, poems, and any other forms of original drawing or writing. The first run will be in February 2013 with several hundred copies.
If you are interested in submitting, please email Jamie at jamie@highheeledtraveler.com by the deadline, December 31st! Happy creating.
