Merry Christmas!
Good morning everyone. I hope you have the merriest of Christmases. Here is the Christmas Tree I made from the tutorial over on my favorite cousin-written blog, Rebelleon. And here are the cinnamon rolls we will be devouring (already devouring) this morning. The recipe for these Quick Cinnamon Rolls is just that, quick! No yeast and waiting for them to rise. And, everything was already in the pantry. Enjoy!
The High Heeled Traveler
My newly minted blog acquaintance, Jamie, has a great blog already over at High Heeled Traveler. As her tagline notes, she explores travel, art, style and wine and now my possibly favorite post, Video Games and Beer. Her husband, who she refers to as “Gman” influences her expert pairing of various pilsners and lagers with zombies and combat. Anyone with a gamer, *sigh*, significant other will get a good laugh.
Jamie is now launching a quarterly magazine of the same name. Each issue will center on a theme. The first issue will be on ‘home’Â and what it means to different people. Jamie is accepting submissions of recipes, music, style, fiction, short stories, poems, and any other forms of original drawing or writing. The first run will be in February 2013 with several hundred copies.
If you are interested in submitting, please email Jamie at jamie@highheeledtraveler.com by the deadline, December 31st! Happy creating.

Weekend Task: Apothecary Chest
The apothecary chest. I consider it the flea market holy grail, at least one that is in working condition. There are great replicas and constructions on Etsy, but for some reason I am expecting to stumble across some under 50 dollars. Is this unreasonable for an apothecary chest? Let me know if any of you all come across an apothecary chest or card catalog this weekend while flea marketing. Meanwhile, lust after these finds with me below.

Deborah Lippman and Girls
Who doesn’t love a good Deborah Lippmann polish? I know Rebellon feels me on this one. HBO has released images of the new nail collection by the famed nail polish creator to be named after each of the quirky main characters of Girls on HBO. The colors are available beginning January 2013. Preorder through HBO’s store, here.
Holiday Look: The Chic Lumberjack
When you are headed out for many a holiday open house or party, it’s fun to get dressed for the season. This look channels rough and edgy with it’s menswear inspiration, but still comes across as feminine. Your hostess will love the Archipelago Joy of the Season Candle and your friends will want to know what lacquer covers your nails. Neutrogena’s daily moisturizer is a great beauty tool this winter when you want to keep glowing. Even on days without makeup it keeps your face hydrated and luminous and has a great smell to boot. Don’t forget your classic leather tote to throw all of your goodies in!

Weekend Instagram
This weekend the boy and I are at the beach. There are so many images here that I love. Look out during the coming weeks for color studies based on my (Instagram’s) photography. Meanwhile, follow me on Instagram via RunsWithMarkers.
When in Asheville…
Asheville, NC is a quaint little metropolis just under two hours from the Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC areas respectively. Don’t dismiss this little town as too granola, too fast. It has many unique shops that have garnered wide recognition. My favorites include Malaprop’s Bookstore, with its own cafe inside, Chocolate Fetish, a gourmet chocolate shop, and of course the local art supply store, True Blue Art Supply. So grab a cabin on airbnb in nearby Weaverville, Hendersonville or Montreat and enjoy a scenic weekend in the Blue Ridge.
